Regular School Program

Korean Culture: Following culture topics are taught during regular school session:

Topic

Description

Folk Songs and Sogo (little drum)

The children will learn Korean children songs, modern and traditional ones during the regular school hour. They will also learn Korean traditional dances during the regular school hour.

Korean Cooking Class

The children will learn and enjoy cooking Korean food during their regular school hours. The regular menu includes Korean Dduk (rice cake), Ho-Dduk (sweet pancake), Kimchi, KimBob (seaweed roll), etc.

 

Calligraphy/Traditional Paper Making

The children will learn the art of writing Korean characters using Korean traditional writing brushes and ink. The children will also learn authentic process how paper was made for centuries in Korea until 19th century.

 

Korean Games

The children will enjoy many Korean games in which they can experience taste of Korean culture.

Storytelling (Folk Tales)

The children will learn Korean folk tales by reading them and be able to tell these stories in Korean.



Choir: The children learn Korean children songs, modern and traditional ones during the regular school hour.

After School Program

Tae Kwon Do: Tae Kwon Do is a traditional Korean martial art. Children learn basic skills and advanced skills as well in the class. The class is taught by Mr. Michel A. Uiterwijk, an international blackbelt holder and the certified instructor and referee. All the children are required to wear a uniform to learn this sport. The class runs every Saturday from 12:40 to 1:40.
